Junior and Middle school

The only thing that is constant is change. In these changing times, where we all are working in hybrid models, communication is one factor which binds us all. So there is an evident need to build our skills. LSRW skills as we call them are a blend of Listening, speaking, reading and writing. Be it on the personal or professional front these skills need to be upgraded and maintained.

What’s in it for me?

The question arises, why should I need these skills and how will it help me. It is said that if you want to write well, you must read more. Not only does it make you a better writer, but also a better learner. Reading opens your vision and widens your thought process. The clarity of thoughts helps you to speak your mind, the more you listen actively, the more you respond and learn better.

Listening (12 weeks)

Lesson- 1

  • Listening is one skill which is often neglected rather it is the foundation of all the other communication skills. It teaches us focus, enriches our concentration and also preaches patience to listen to others. It makes you empathetic and authentic.

Speaking (12 weeks )

The skills which allow us to communicate effectively. Speaking skills are the most convenient ways to deliver and convey our message. The ability to express ourselves confidently, fluently with the help of both verbal and non-verbal skills. It is said 7% is the content, 33% is the voice modulation and 57% body language that matters and we fully equip our child for the same. Fluency, pronunciation and vocabulary all matters to us.

Lesson - 3

  • Voice Modulators

Reading (12 weeks)

Lesson- 1

  • Reading multi syllable and grade reading appropriate, irregularly spelled words.

Lesson- 2

  • Reads grade level text with appropriate pace, accuracy expression and understanding

Lesson - 3

  • Self-correct mistakes and re- reading

Lesson - 4

  • Doing Q and A about a text using specific examples from the text and connects different parts of text.

Lesson - 5

  • Comprehending the read text

Lesson - 6

  • Comparing and contrasting two books

Writing (12 weeks)

  • Unit - 1 Types of sentences
  • Unit – 2 Confused words
  • Unit – 3 Synonyms and Antonyms
  • Unit – 4 Vocabulary
  • Unit- 5 Writing a paragraph
  • Unit – 6 Imaginary writing
